Charmehotel Friedrich - saunas and amazement
The Charmehotel Friedrich in the South Tyrolean Welschnofen offers a wonderful view of the neighboring forest, the beautiful Rosengarten and Latemar mountains and the village from above.
The guests at the Friedrich enjoy the manageable size of 13 rooms in which 25 guests can spend the night: The seven modern double rooms and the six spacious, bright suites with the light-flooded, cozy dining room and the spacious wellness area ensure relaxation and enjoyment on all levels. A special highlight is the new infinity low marine pool with a view of the village of Welschnofen and the surrounding mountains.
The Hotel Friedrich is the home of the Fäckl family: Christof Fäckl took over the house from his parents Rita and Friedrich in 2003 as a small guesthouse. He cooks personally every day with a lot of passion and prefers to stay local, and above all honest, healthy and absolutely fresh. Katja Rechenmacher Fäckl looks after the guests in the service and at the reception. She loves it when she can read their wishes in their eyes. The family also includes Konstantin and Annalena and the little dog Brutus, as well as Grandma Rita and Grandpa Friedrich, who founded Haus Friedrich in 1970.
The hosts wanted to carry on the legacy of the parents with new visions and goals. They are rooted locally and love to stay as regional as possible in order to implement sustainability holistically. For this reason, they made a conscious decision to keep the hotel small and run it personally. They also ensure a relaxed and happy atmosphere so that guests can feel at home. The high standard of quality that they live by every day also means for them that they want to pamper their guests more and more and also sensitize them to the fact that often less is more and that love is mostly in the details.

By using wood and stone, the house blends in harmoniously with the landscape. Local suppliers who specialize in regional materials were used for the construction. The house is cozy, in addition to wood and stone, a lot of glass was built in. The 13 rooms are similar, but are in no way identical: each room has its own character thanks to different colors and natural materials.
Christof, who cooks for the guests every day, loves to refine the traditional dishes of the Alpine-Mediterranean cuisine. A favorite dish of the guests is, for example, the tartare from the Kaminwurz with horseradish mousse and Schüttelbrot corner. The prepared food mostly comes from the neighboring farmer, and if Grandma Rita's garden has it, salads and herbs are served from them. Recently there is no longer a buffet, in other words, the guests are served personally and from table to table, so they can lean back even more and ultimately there is less food waste. In addition to an extensive breakfast, guests can look forward to a little refreshment in the afternoon, sometimes with sweet and sometimes with savory delicacies, until they can enjoy a 5-course menu in the evening. Themed culinary evenings take place twice a week. Vegan and vegetarian dishes are served and Christof is happy to take intolerances into account.
All Friedrichs employees are based in the village of Welschnofen. The hosts cultivate a personal, open relationship with their employees, and that goes beyond the cooperation. They also repeatedly support local, social projects such as Kinderherz or Peter Pan.
The charm hotel has recently become a member of the “Climate Neutrality Alliance 2025” - and sustainability is lived as follows: heating is carried out using pellets, waste is strictly separated and avoided as much as possible, detergents and cleaning agents are ecological, and recycled paper is used Use and in the rooms guests will find zero-waste amenities. The pool water is treated by an electrolysis system that releases natural chlorine; it is enriched with salt and therefore no chemicals are used.
The spa manager Barbara has an eye and a knack for something special. In addition to the usual treatments, guests have the option of transformation thanks to the silver quartzite urstein treatments. Thanks to the unique South Tyrolean healing stone and elaborate, special massage techniques, guests can look forward to first-class experiences. Welschnofen is a hiking, cycling and climbing paradise in summer and a paradise for skiing, tobogganing and winter hiking in winter. Welschnofen is a village of 2,000 souls and offers the opportunity for an active holiday, but also for a retreat with plenty of relaxation - all year round.
