Become a Good Travel Host:

When it comes to sustainable travel, the choice of accommodation plays a major role. Hosts and their offerings have a significant influence on their respective region, both economically and culturally. And they can shape this influence in a positive way.

Large booking portals don't consider such factors. Our goal is to appeal to appreciative clientele and bring these guests to you: from people to people who are looking for something special.

Who are we?

We are a small team distributed across Berlin and Europe. From our conviction and a passion for places with that special something, we founded Good Travel.

We:

  • are a strong authentic brand
  • stand for sustainability, design, and genuine hospitality
  • are a seal of quality for sustainable travel
  • take care of your digital presence so you stand out from the crowd
  • tell your stories
  • are regularly featured in national and international media
  • bring you appreciative guests
  • offer fair and transparent terms

If you're interested in our offering, feel free to contact us. We will look at your place and if it fits, we'll send you our documents and conduct an interview (usually in writing) to learn more about you and your accommodation.

What are our Good Travel criteria?

In addition to our own defined sustainability criteria, we pay attention to style and atmosphere. Sustainability doesn't mean much if the aesthetics don't match. We also place great value on the strong regional integration of accommodations.

Certain certifications are not necessarily required, as some of the hotels or vacation homes that meet our ideal don't have them. Each certification also comes with costs that small properties can't always afford. And we prefer uncertified vegetables from the garden over imported organic produce. For us, the people behind the accommodations are decisive and what values and intentions these people embody.

The following characteristics should be fulfilled wholly or partially by Good Travel hosts:

Hospitality:

  • Owner-operated
  • Guests receive personal recommendations
  • Often there's a small welcome gesture, such as fresh flowers, a small card, a drink
  • Individual wishes and needs can be taken into account
  • Some hosts offer additional services (e.g., creative workshops, cooking classes, yoga)
  • Free from discrimination

Lived Sustainability:

  • Use of local materials
  • Involvement of the local community (culturally and economically)
  • Respectful interaction with each other
  • Own agriculture or products from the region
  • Upcycling and recycling

Style Consciousness:

  • Unique, unusual, original
  • Authentic
  • Incorporation of regional characteristics (materials, construction methods, etc.)
  • The house bears its own signature
  • "Less is more"
