Carried on hands: a guest at the Miramonte
Nestled among the foothills of Bad Gastein, the Hotel Miramonte is a 36 room hotel with striking valley views and breathtaking mountain scenery. From the large windows in the lobby to the antique wooden floors in every room, no design detail has been spared. Enjoy the original retro furniture from the 50’s with matching vintage baths, spacious cloakrooms, desks, cowhide seating, a Loewe television and in-room speaker for excellent sound.
Host and architect Ike Ikrath has been welcoming guests at the Miramonte since 2011. He is happy to share special tips for the region or to dive deep into conversations about architecture, sustainability, and design. Sidle up to the James Bond Lounge Bar or explore the terrace, lingering in the large living room with plenty of space to read and rest. Take note of the hand-selected art, specifically chosen design pieces, and the special marble and wood seen throughout the hotel.

When the sun is shining, enjoy breakfast on the terrace with vegan porridge, organic eggs, regional fruit, vegetables, sheep’s milk yoghurt, regional mountain cheese, homemade jams, chutney and green meadow juice. The afternoon snack is often a soup with sides and dinner is a robust four course menu with your choice of fish, meat, vegetarian, or vegan dishes.
The Miramonte is built around a strong team culture, offering international employees a variety of development and training opportunities. From Artist in Residence programs to commitments with the local community, the hotel is an active presence in Bad Gastein.
rom Ayurvedic treatments to yoga classes and massage, the Miramonte allows guests to enjoy the full-service benefits of retreating to Bad Gastein. Here, the thermal waters bubble up straight to the baths and the small spa area boasts a sauna, steam bath, lounger and a thermal spring bath with three in-floor thermal tubs. As a partner of Felsentherme, guests can enter at a reduced cost. Bicycles and e-bikes are available to hire and the hotel is happy to share their large list of trails, peaks, and exciting ways to experience nature.

Im Miramonte kehren primär junge, wellness-orientierte Gäste ein. Glutenfrei und vegan sind hier keine Fremdwörter, sondern ein selbstverständlicher Service.
Nach der Zigarette betritt man einen der schönsten und angenehmsten Orte Österreichs abseits von Wien: Das Personal ist immer da, aber nie aufdringlich, der Blick aus den Zimmern auf Bad Gastein und den Stubnerkogel: spektakulär; das Spa so großzügig, als gehörte es zum ehemaligen »Grand Hotel« auf der anderen Talseite. Ein Stockwerk darüber mixt Jesper, ein Schwede, den perfekten Whisky Sour, und da die Bar vermutlich die beste in Bad Gastein ist, sollte man dort einfach sitzen bleiben.
Im Hotel Miramonte, einem Mix aus 1960er-Jahre-Retrochic und Wohlfühldesign, finden sich aber noch weitere Liechtenstein-Spuren: in der Bar sein alter Plattenspieler, daneben Bildbände und Alben von ihm, darunter auch eines namens "Bad Gastein", das 2014 erschien. So viel Ehre für einen Bergort? "Hier gibt es alles, wovon ich oft und gerne rede und das auf eine exemplarische zauberhafte Weise", so der Ausnahmemusiker, der immer wieder in sein Lieblingshotel Miramonte und nach Bad Gastein zurückkehrt.
