You can't tell how old the mill is from the carefully restored buildings. But parts of the foundations date back to the 17th century.
In the 1990s, Ingrid Kirnbauer, née Martin, and her husband Ulrich took over the former guest house from her parents and converted it into a hotel with a variety of rooms. The idyllic, secluded location surrounded by meadows and orchards with a view of Lake Constance make the place special. And the comfortably laid out, spacious garden with a playground and petting animals does its part. For bad weather days, there is a sauna, a lounge with a fireplace and the library with a large selection and loungey leather armchairs.
The fact that it is so cozy in the Martinsmühle could be because the hotel has been passed down from mother to daughter for several generations. The female guiding hand can be felt in every corner and makes it really homely for the guests. And the Kirnbauers' four daughters are already ready to continue the tradition.

The snack room for house guests is a cozy place. The house specialty is boiled potatoes with homemade herb curd. The herbs come from the garden, potatoes from the region and the curd is made from silage-free hay milk. The buttermilk waffles are recommended for dessert.
