Villa Vilan Countryside Lodging is an enchanting retreat in Småland, southern Sweden, where tradition and nature come together harmoniously. Surrounded by trees, idyllic pastures, meadows with rich flora and a variety of farm and wild animals, guests here experience the powerful Småland landscape up close.
The accommodation is run by Stefanie and Nils, a German-Swiss couple who emigrated to Sweden in 2001. Their passion for nature and hospitality led them to open their house as a bed and breakfast in 2002. Over the years they have developed the offer further: first with the charming holiday home Ekkulle, which stands on stilts, and later with the cozy holiday home Äppellund, a historic building from the 19th century.
Since 2024, Stefanie and Nils have also been enriching their offer with the Glamping Dome Drakaberget - a unique overnight experience under the stars. Regardless of whether you choose a room in the B&B, one of the holiday homes or the Glamping Dome - the uncomplicated hospitality and the bright, friendly and Scandinavian cozy ambience can be felt everywhere.

Sustainable
Villa Vilan Countryside Lodging comprises two buildings over 140 years old, built in traditional log cabin style.
Great importance is placed on seasonality, and many products are home-grown - honey, jams, fresh yoghurt, berries, seasonal vegetables, eggs and bread. In addition, food waste is not wasted, but finds its way to the chickens or ends up in the compost.
Environmentally friendly energy is used with solar energy, a geothermal heat pump in the B&B and air heat pumps in the holiday homes. Waste separation and composting are also an integral part of everyday life, while a private, deep-drilled water catchment provides fresh drinking water. There is also a charging station for electric and hybrid cars. Nils and Stefanie have restored parts of their land so that it has the status of a landscape conservation area. As a certified organic farm, Villa Vilan Countryside Lodging is actively committed to preserving old and endangered domestic animal breeds and makes an annual donation to World Animal Protection. In personal conversations that arise, for example on the farm, the hosts (Nils has a doctorate in wildlife biology) are happy to share their passion for sustainable practices and the respectful treatment of animals and nature.
